I wanted to send you a short video to say Merry Christmas — and to reflect, briefly, on what a strange, chaotic, fascinating year it’s been.
From political shenanigans in the UK and the US… To AI going from novelty to something reshaping entire industries…To markets pumping, dumping, and pumping again like clockwork…
It’s been one of those years.
In the video, I talk a bit about all of that — the madness, the opportunities, why the UK markets feel stuck for now, why so much of the action has been in the US, and why, despite everything, I still think it’s important to keep a longer-term perspective.
Most of all, it’s just a moment to pause, take stock, and remember that investing (and life) doesn’t have to be grim or joyless — even when the headlines try their best to make it feel that way.
And yes…there is a Chewbacca Christmas T-shirt involved.
However, you’re spending the next few days — with family, friends, a quiet drink, or just switching off for a bit — I hope you enjoy it.
