Markets are sending investors some seriously mixed signals right now.
Oil is above US$100. Inflation fears are back. Gold demand is surging. And the AI trade seems to swing from boom to bust and back again almost by the day.
So, should you be fearful?
Or is all that fear actually creating an opportunity?
That’s what Nick and I dig into in this week’s video with special guest Sean Allison, a trading educator and market strategist with more than 20 years of experience.
Sean takes a very different approach to risk. Rather than trying to eliminate it, he looks for ways to use periods of fear to his advantage – including a strategy that involves selling what he calls “overpriced insurance” on fundamentally strong companies.
As Elizabeth Cox wrote on Wednesday, this is a similar strategy to the one Warren Buffett used early on in his investing career.
Britain’s Investment Letter Since 1938
In 1938, The Fleet Street Letter warned its readers that war was coming to Europe — and even identified September as the critical month.
Since then, its readers have been warned ahead of Black Monday, the dotcom crash and the 2008 financial crisis.
Today, Britain’s longest-running investment advisory is still looking for the “news behind the news” — and the investment opportunities others could be missing.

What Does Britain’s Oldest Investment Letter See Coming Next?
It warned readers ahead of Black Monday.
The dotcom crash.

He walks us through how it works, what happens when a trade goes against you, and why the strategy starts with finding a company you’d be happy to own anyway.
Next Wednesday, he’ll show you the real meat and potatoes at 6 pm GMT. Make sure you’re on the list for a reminder when he starts.
While talking with Sean, Nick also explains why simply sitting on the sidelines carries risks of its own – and why investors may need to rethink what “risk” actually means in this market.

PS Sean is saving the most important part for Wednesday. At 6pm GMT, he’ll show you exactly how what he calls the Ultimate Risk Reversal works – including how he identifies the right companies, chooses his entry points, and structures the trade from the outset. If you’re curious about the strategy we’ve introduced today, make sure you’re on the list here. We’ll also send you a couple of extra briefings before Wednesday to help you get the most out of the presentation.
